Vision-Ease Lens Presents Vision-Ease Lens Awards During Second Annual Latin America/Caribbean Customer Appreciation Dinner
Vision Ease Lens Awards (VELA) recognize leadership and contributionswithin Latin American optic industry
RAMSEY, MINN. (April 2, 2009) – On March 28, Vision-Ease Lens (VEL) held its Latin America/Caribbean Customer Appreciation Dinner in conjunction with Vision Expo East in New York. The company presented its Vision-Ease Lens Awards (VELA) to seventeen recipients, including retailers, distributors and labs, in recognition of their leadership and contribution to the Latin American optical industry.
Tony Brea, VEL director, Latin America, Alejandro Lopez, VEL Central America/Caribbean regional manager, Doug Hepper, CEO and president, and Scott Schaller, vice president of Worldwide Sales and Marketing recognized the VELA winners and thanked all of the VEL customers, colleagues and friends in attendance.
Michael Devlyn of Opticas Devlyn South America was awarded the "Latin America Retailer of the Year" VELA in recognition of his leadership, growth and application of new technologies and changes in corporate culture as part of their dynamics of change, indicated Brea.
Super Lens of Medellin, Colombia, Servioptica of Bogota, Colombia and Megalux of Chile tied for the "Latin America Lab of the Year" VELA.
- Regional awards were announced for the following Latin America industry leaders for their outstanding achievements in 2008:
- Caribbean Lab of the Year – MGM Optical Laboratory of Puerto Rico
- Caribbean Distributor of the Year – Opti-Express of the Dominican Republic
- Caribbean Retailer of the Year – Optica Klaridad of the Dominican Republic
- Central America Client of the Year – Optica Matamoros of Honduras
- Central America Distributor of the Year – Lentes de Costa Rica of Costa Rica
- Central America Retailer of the Year – Optica Vision of Costa Rica
- South America Distributor of the Year – Internacional Optica of Argentina
- Brazil Lab of the Year – Perphyl of Brazil
- Fidelity Client of the Year – Metalizado Optico Argentino of Argentina
- South America Lab of the Year – Megalux of Chile
- South America Retailer of the Year – Opticas Schilling of Chile
- Brazil New Distributor of the Year – GBO of Brazil
- Brazil Distributor of the Year – Soo Yul Han/EMC of Brazil
